Design of in-shoe plantar pressure monitoring system for daily activity exercise stress assessment

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In this paper we describe a plantar pressure monitoring system which would be applied to monitor the plantar pressure for daily activity exercise stress assessment. The system realized real time parameter measurement, transmission, data analysis and storage. Based on the previous study, 5 force sensors were located on the insole, which could estimate the foot load with reasonable accuracy and reduce system cost. The use of Bluetooth enables the system real-time communication with many common devices, which not only improves the convenience of equipment but also creates condition for family daily activity monitoring.
