Abstract
A new method of designing power system stabilizer based on H∞ optimal control theory and partial pole placement technique was proposed. The performance of the H∞ PSS has been evaluated by non-linear simulation. It is concluded that this stabilizer provides better damping to the oscillation of the system than the conventional PSS in a wide range of operating conditions, so the stability of system is improved.
