Abstract

In this paper, a hook type dipole phased array with anti-metal structure for 5G mobile terminals is presented. The proposed antenna operates at 28GHz with a bandwidth of 2GHz and has a good beam-steering characteristic with more than 9.07dB gains and sidelobe level less 6.49dB in the scanning range of 0 to 60 degree. The proposed antenna occupied a volume of 42.4×10.3×0.508mm3, which can be easily fit into current mobile devices for the coming 5G short range communication standards.
