Abstract

An evaporator-condenser-separate mechanical vapor compression (MVC) system was presented, and the process of the new system was described. The thermal cycle model was established, and the thermodynamic parameters were optimized. In addition, measures to improve the efficiency of the system were proposed. The results show that the better effect of cleaning and prevention of scale was obtained by the new system. The heat exchange temperature between the evaporator and the condenser should better be 3.7 °C. The rotating disk evaporator and the hydrophobic tubes of condenser can enhance the heat transfer and improve efficiency.
