Abstract

Based on the optimal prediction midcourse guidance law, the concept of predicted handover point was proposed, and a handover performance optimal midcourse guidance law was proposed. The new midcourse guidance law could maximize the final midcourse velocity of the missile, and guarantee the geometrical relationship between the missile and the target to be optimal at the midcourse and the terminal guidance handover point. Thus, at the beginning of the terminal guidance, the initial condition of the missile could be optimal. It could enhance the intercept capability and precision of the missile in the terminal guidance, and minish the miss distance. Numerical simulation results illustrate that the presented midcourse law can reach the requested performance indexes. Compared with the optimal prediction midcourse guidance law, the new guidance law results in smaller handover course error and the smaller intercept miss distance, and enhances the guidance precision effectively.
