Design and simulation of a magnetic flux-to-field transformer for GMI/superconducting mixed magnetometer application

Abstract

This paper reports the design, simulation, and analysis of a new kind of superconducting loop working as a flux-to-field transformer that is based on the superconducting magnetic flux change theory and the characteristics of ultrasensitive GMI/superconducting mixed sensors. The theoretical derivation of the transformer's expected properties is introduced and the design and fabrication of the mixed sensor are optimized to achieve high sensitivity. Compared with previous structures, this new transformer has great advantages for the enhancement of weak magnetic fields and noise suppression in theory.
