Abstract

A new type of video signal generator based on FPGA is presented. It generates several kinds of video signals to meet the input requirements of most video systems under test. This generator communicates with a PC through USB port, and this method could also solve the problem of power supply. In the FPGA, the generator could generate image and sequence control signal through software program, and send the signals to video D/A module. Then experiments were carried out to verify the application of the generator in TV tracking capability test. The tracking capability parameters were obtained and analyzed. This generator has the merits of high reliability, good universality, high integration level, small size and so on, and has broad application prospects.
