Abstract

This paper presents the design of an high speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a rated speed at 20000rpm applied to the Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator(EHA). Considering the full speed operating condition of the high-speed PMSM, the analysis is carried out through bearing selection, electromagnetic design, loss analysis and so on. To ensure motor output performance and reliability, this paper uses the finite element analysis to optimize the design of the EHA drive motor. Most importantly, in order to ensure high efficiency of the motor, detailed loss analysis and modeling are carried out. Finally, by optimizing the heat dissipation mechanism, the normal working temperature of the motor is ensured under all working conditions.
