Design analysis of the sampling probe for supersonic combustion

Abstract

In the supersonic flowfield, it is especially difficult to perform the sampling analysis due to the high temperature and velocity conditions. The high temperature flowfield makes it hard for cooling the probe and freezing the reaction, and the detached shock wave in the high velocity flowfield leads to the abrupt increase on the temperature and the composition separation of the sampling gas.In present paper, the design criteria and key points of the sampling probe used in the supersonic combustion were introduced and discussed. To avoid the intensive bow shock induced by the probe, the first divergence section of the probe was divided into two divergence sections in present investigation. Subsequently, a onedimensional flow model was established to obtain the flow parameters of the sampling probe.
