Abstract

Based on multi-inertial measuring unit (IMU) data fusion, a method was proposed for deck deformation measurement. The model of deck deformation measurement was developed. The least squares estimation was applied to the analysis of deck deformation. The results show that by processing the output signals of the IMU, it is feasible to estimate the deck deformation, and to decrease the number of IMUs needed in the measurement system. The accuracy of deformation estimation depends on the arrangement of IMUs. The prediction error is less than 0.8 arcmin when the IMUs are arranged reasonably.
