Abstract

This paper is designed to describe a distance measure between interval value vague sets. Based on the distance it proposed a decision-making method of mechanical design scheme. The precedence of mechanical design schemes, whose attributes are described by interval value vague sets, can be obtained through calculating the distance between each scheme to the ideal scheme. The one that is closest to the ideal scheme will be the best decision. The application of this decision method in mechanism design scheme evaluation will be expounded to be valid by a practical example.
