Abstract

The cured shapes of cross-ply unsymmetric composite laminates were investigated using Ritz method. An analytical model to predict the cured shape of unsymmetric thin composite laminates was established based on the geometric nonlinearity. The shape and deformation of the unsymmetric composite laminates were obtained. It shows that the predicted deformations are well agreed with the experiments for the regions a little far away from the edges of the square plates and for the rectangular plates.
