Critical state model of K0-consolidated structure loess

Abstract

Based on the modified Cambridge model, the proposed K0-consolidated structure loess critical state model is used to describe the structure characteristics for K0-consolidated structure loess, including other basic characteristics, by introducing the parameter related to the structure. The structure parameter, which has explicit physical meaning, is obtained by analyzing various kinds of test results about K0-consolidated structure loess. And as a state variable, there is no need to measure the structure parameter separately, which is related with the structure and the stress level. It was shown by comparison between the predicted and the test results that the basic mechanical characteristics of the K0-consolidated structure loess could be well described by the proposed model.
