Abstract

The structure, composition and forming mechanism of surface stable rust layers on weathering steels are summarized in the present paper. The general application ways of weathering steels and the existing problems are presented as well. The surface treatment techniques to accelerate the formation process of stable rust layers on weathering steels and the relative principles are emphasized.
