Corrosion impairment experimental study of aluminum alloy LY11 propellers in a certain airplane

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The test of simulation part of a propeller of airplane at different rust corrosion impairment conditions on the experiment machine and electromagnetic table was conducted, whilst the rule of impairment surface ratio A changes with low-cycle loading N, and the change rule of vibration frequency in line with the ratio of corrosion impairment depth, corrosion length and corrosion impairment area were given. The experiment shows that, when the loads and the temperature are the same, the property of material, shot-peen process and the operating environment are impartment factors for corrosion impairment of propellers; and the damnification area A and damnification depth H have more influence on the vibration frequency of propellers of airplane. The most limit depth ratio is 0.14, and the most limit damnification depth of simulation part is 0.7mm. The ratio of damnification area is 0.015, and the most limit damnification area of simulation part is 3.006 mm2.
