Abstract

Precise formation keeping is a key technology for the distributed satellite systems. Based on the impact of perturbation for the relative orbit configuration, a cyclic coordination control method which applied the line-of-sight measurement and leaderless formations, was proposed, focusing on the unsteady formation of semi-major axis error. Line-of-sight measurement was generated when each satellite in the formation tracked the neighbouring one in the front on the orbit and the first one tracked the last one, generating the cyclic formation. The formation control was realized via taking the lines-of-sight distances as the feedback control. Equations of the relative perturation and simulation example of the control system laws were proposed, and control validity was analyzed. The simulations demonstrate the stability of formation control can be achieved via this system.
