Complex product design process model based on generalized characters evolution

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

To develop the process of product design, a complex product design process model based on generalized characteristic evolution was proposed in which product design process was defined and described by two parallel lines of generalized component evolution and generalized characteristic evolution. The unified generalized component evolution model was presented by dividing the evolution model into evolution actions decomposing and evolution actions IDEF0 modeling. The generalized characteristic evolution process model was presented in which generalized characteristic identification, decomposition, mapping, order, clustering, conflict resolution, optimization and other actions were concluded and summarized. According to this model, Complex Product Design Support System (CPDSS) was developed based on Browser/Serve (B/S) structure, and an example of radar design process was provided to validate this model.
