Abstract

The mechanical properties of two different kinds of reinforced PUR foam plastics were investigated by the experiments of quasi-static and dynamic compression. The characteristics of stress-strain curves for the two materials were discussed and the strain rate sensitivity as well as their energy loss were compared. The experimental results show that the glass fiber bundles reinforced foam plastics has different mechanical properties and deformation as well as failure mechanism from the single glass fiber reinforced one. The single glass fiber reinforced foam plastics has better reinforced effects.
