Abstract

Virtual prototyping (VP) is a substantial content of simulation based acquisition (SBA). Dynamic virtual prototype (DVP) of aircraft is a aircraft prototype system applied dynamic designing and evaluating technology in a collaborative simulation environment, which is based on the dynamics/kinematics models of objects and is supported by other relative models. The key concept of DVP is establishing a collaborative design environment (CDE) which requires performance-based models that will provide the designer with decision-making potential. To support simulation based design (SBD), the model of each subsystem is established and the aerodynamic characters, control system, engine characters, flight performance and flying qualities are analyzed, tested and evaluated in CDE. Pilot can achieve virtual flight testing with Human-in-the-Loop. Multidiscipline design optimization (MDO) of aircraft is performed in the CDE of DVP.
