Abstract
Laser ranging based on asynchronous sampling of ultrashort optical pulses is proposed and experimentally demonstrated using just one polarization-multiplexed mode-locked fiber laser, which produces two orthogonal polarized, coherent pulse trains with slightly different repetition rates.
