Abstract
Referring to the problem of light stripe recognition in 3D measurement using a grating structured light sensor, a new structured light coding method, namely pyramid sub-grating projecting method, is proposed. A high-density grating structured light pattern can be gradually subdivided into some legible sub-grating ones by this method. Each of sub-grating patterns is encoded by the spatial dichotomy. The method of estimating the codeword of a light stripe point is introduced in detail. This coding method is applied to grating structured light sensor, the surface of a statue of Venus is measured, and 3D reconstruction results are given. The experimental results show that the ratio of false codeword of the coding method is only 0.75 percent, and it is specially adapted to the 3D profile measurement in density.
