Abstract

A novel improved Fast Independent Component Analysis (Fast ICA) algorithm is proposed to address the issue of co-frequency interference in Ground-Based Augmentation Systems VHF Data Broadcast (GBAS VDB), VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR), and Instrument Landing System (ILS) systems. First, a compatibility testing scheme for GBAS VDB, VOR, and ILS signals is designed, and experiments are conducted to evaluate the impact of co-frequency interference on reception performance. Next, a blind signal separation algorithm is applied to separate co-frequency interference signals, utilizing an improved third-order convergence Fast ICA algorithm to accelerate the signal separation process and successfully recover the desired signals. Simulation results demonstrate that the improved Fast ICA algorithm achieves faster convergence compared to conventional methods, effectively suppressing co-frequency interference in the VDB received signals.
