Abstract

High-spin states in115Sb were populated using the reaction109Ag(12C, α2n) at a beam energy of 54 MeV. A new ΔI = 1 negative parity rotational band with several linking transitions to the existing negative-parity band has been identified. Based on the experimental results and their comparison with the relativistic mean-field and multiparticle plus rotor model calculations, a chiral character of the two bands based on the (Formula presented) configuration is proposed. This observation provides further evidence for a new chiral island in the neutron-rich A ≈ 120 mass region.
