Characteristic analysis of composite thin-walled beams under constrained torsion

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Based on Vlasov theory, a layered warping model was presented for mechanical analysis of composite thin-walled beams with arbitrary closed-section. Besides the effects of shearing strain and torsion warping, the influences of materials and the ply arrangement on the warping displacement and stress are also discussed. The numerical results show that the warping displacement and stress of the composite thin-walled beam are different from layer to layer due to influence of materials and the ply arrangement.
