Abstract
To calculate the fault tree's minimal cut sets (MCS) of the minimum equipment list (MEL), a method is brought forward. Based on the binary decision diagram (BDD), both the multistage equipments and the repeated events in the fault tree of MEL are well solved by using the multistate dependent operations (MDO) and MCS-OR operation. Finally, this method's application steps are presented, and an example is gived.
