Abstract

The concept of the support time was discussed and the impact factors of the support time were analyzed from three aspects: support activities, support organization and support resources. Based on the analysis of the impact factors, an analytic calculation model of the mean support time (MST) for the support system was presented in detail: firstly, a matrix was established to define the logic relationship between the support tasks contained in a support activity before ranking and ordering the matrix topologically in order to compute the time to implement the support activity; secondly, the time waiting for the support activity was obtained using queuing theory; thereafter, the MST of a base was achieved on the basis of the MST of all support activities in a base, which was computed by adding the time to implement the support activity and the time waiting for the support resources; eventually, the MST of the support system was calculated based on the MST of each base. At last, an example was provided to verify the feasibility and correctness of the approach.
