Abstract

Complicate products are represented by a number of trimmed surfaces during the digitized modeling. Mesh generation of a trimmed surface is an important research subject in Computational Geometry. According to the geometric definition of a trimmed surface, numerous researchers adopt a method that generates meshes on trimmed surface by trimming meshes on non-trimmed surface. However, this approach can not be widely implemented because the meshes' shapes on trimmed surface's boundary are not as perfect as expected. Therefore, in order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a method called boundary rail method (BRM), which is applied to reconstructed the meshes on the trimmed surface's boundary and obtain perfect shapes of meshes.
