Abstract
Infrared (IR) stealth is urgently required by targets’ increased radiation and the advanced detection technology. Unfortunately, the metal films performed low IR emissivity, which conflicted with visible (Vis) stealth. Inspired by the silver ants, Vis-IR reflection property of the metasurface Pt films was investigated by finite element method (FEM) simulation and experiments. The FEM models revealed diffraction extinction in Vis band and high IR reflectivity for Pt films with V-shaped grooves. The Pt films with concave-convex structures were obtained by being deposited on the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) substrate, whose reflection spectra confirmed diffraction extinction in Vis band and high reflectivity in 3–5 µm band. Moreover, Vis-IR reflection spectra of the metasurface metal films could be governed by the thickness and component. Our investigation proposed a metasurface metal film with V-shaped groove for Vis-IR bi-stealth, which might assist development of compatible stealth technology.
