Abstract
Two kinds of evaporating tubes were designed for trapped vortex combustor, and their atomization and evaporation performance was experimentally investigated under different conditions of environmental temperature, vapour-liquid ratio, temperature and velocity of air for atomization. The results show that these conditions have great impact on the performance of atomization and evaporation, and there is a significant difference of atomization performance at different axial positions of the outlet of evaporating tube. The performance of two kinds of evaporation tubes was compared, and the better one was used as the oil supply device of the interstage turbine trapped vortex combustor. According to the results of the combustion performance tests, high combustion efficiency, wide range of stable combustion and low wall temperature can be achieved in the trapped vortex combustor.
