Abstract

A simple and effective lens distortion correction technique is presented. By processing the distorted displacement fields of rigid body translation experiment, the lens distortion coefficient is determined. The corrected displacement fields can be calculated using the computed distortion coefficient. The influence of distortion on displacement measurement error is further discussed. The result shows that the proposed method can effectively eliminate the effect of lens distortion and improve displacement measurement accuracy.
