Abstract

A novel array signal recovery and direction-finding method based on non-uniform period modulation is proposed and investigated. By non-uniform period modulation, the first harmonic components from different elements have different center frequencies and can be separated. Then the original array signals can be recovered and used to obtain the high-resolution direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation. Compared to the uniform period modulation, the desired first harmonics have the same amplitude when the incident angle changes, which means the stable accuracy across all incident angles. Numeric simulation is provided to verify the effectiveness.
