Abstract
Functions and disadvantages of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in information integration systems were discussed, with the complex product advanced manufacturing systems as the application background. The SOA was semantically expanded. An architecture based on semantic SOA for information integration system was proposed. Detailed analyses and explanation of each layer of the architecture was presented. A prototype system of an information system integration platform was designed and implemented based on the proposed architecture. Feasibility of the architecture was validated with respect to resource integration and service implementation. Finally, future research and applications of semantic SOA technologies as well as integration frameworks were summarized.
