Abstract
The erosion of gun barrel is a main obstacle for improving the gun performance, and the high temperature is always the dominant cause for the erosion, The mechanisms that are responsible for the barrel erosion were analyzed herein, and on this basis, a new film cooling technology was presented, in which, the coolant is put into the combustible case. Both the interior ballistic characteristics of gun and the durability of gun-barrel were improved by using this cooling technology.
