Application of metallic sphere in rotator ISAR imaging

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The ISAR images of typical scattering body which processed according to the general ISAR imaging formula and calibrated with metallic sphere, are not as same as prediction. The fact that the scattering center of the metallic sphere located not at the geometric center but near the surface of the radar was confirmed through analysis to the scattering mechanism of the metallic sphere. Based on this fact, the formula of rotator ISAR imaging which calibrated with metallic sphere was deduced. Application to typical scattering body and real model shows that the deviation between obtained ISAR images and model projection is less than 2cm, which is good to the diagnosis of scattering center.
