Antenna pattern compensation technique for near field MIMO radar imaging

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In this paper, effects of antenna pattern tapering on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar image are studied. First, it brings about amplitude inconsistency of MIMO array output, which results in imagery defocusing under near-field condition. Second, it leads to the loss of measured scattering intensity for calibrated images. An antenna pattern compensation technique is proposed for reducing these impacts. Simulation results are presented to validate the performances of the proposed technique.
