Abstract

We propose an analytical model for calculating the permutation capacity of a nonblocking WDM switch with TV input and N output links, each carrying K channels at different wavelengths. Based on this model, we analyzed the permutation capacity of a nonblocking WDM switch with or without wavelength conversion. Interestingly, we find that the permutation capacity of a WDM switch meets the Fibonacci sequence when the wavelength conversion degree d = 1 and N = 1.
