Abstract
Two typical standby-redundancy models are analysed. As for analysing the 0-1 type model, the following conclusion is drawn: when the units of the standby-redundancy model are all 0-1 type, the model is equivalent to a simple redundancy model. As for analysing the time-limited type mode, the wear-out mechanism of the redundant unit is taken into account, and the mathematic model is established. To cope with the lack of basic data μ2 and σ2, an approximate method is put forth. These two typical models are illustrated with examples.
