Abstract

The transverse thermal residual stress in composites is predigested as a pressed tunnel model under consideration of the fiber transverse modulus. Which is used to analyze the residual stress distributing during solidifying composites. The contact pressure and residual stress field distribution are discussed between a single fiber and the matrix. Results show that the stress in fiber is constant and the stress in the matrix reduceds as the function of r-2. Then, superposition method is used to get the coupled residual stress field in multi-fibers cell. Comparing with the FEM simulation, the results obtained from our model is identical with the FEM ones.
