Abstract
Different aerodynamic configurations of the core driven fan stage (CDFS) in the variable cycle engine have been investigated with DENTON code. Different spanwise distributions of preswirl and rotor loading were also investigated. Numerical results show that: The configuration using the CDFS stator as the high pressure compressor inlet guide vane provides better CDFS performance, and reduces the compressor weight. The CDFS efficiency is mainly influenced by the rotor efficiency and the stall margin of the CDFS is mainly influenced by the stator aerodynamic load. The overall performance of the CDFS can be improved by increasing the total pressure ratio at the inner span of the rotor.
