Abstract

For an antenna array with random feeding phase errors, its key parameters such as the antenna gain, radiation patterns are all phase-dependent. In order to quantify the effects of phase errors on the antenna performance, the polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) method is adopted in this paper. At the same time, an interpolation method establishes the relationship between the PCE coefficients and the observe angle ?, which reduces the PCE calculation cost significantly. The proposed hybrid method can work also with the method of moments, which takes account of the detailed array element, mutual coupling, and array manifold into the calculation. The Monte Carlo simulation results are also provided for comparison.
