Abstract

The axis-radial momentum equations of circular flat parachute were established the changing parameters of a selected parachute were calculated for dynamic simulation of the inflation process. According to the inflation model calculated by the momentum equation, based on the shape and descent velocity of the parachute at fixed nodes of time, the fluid field was simulated and analyzed according to computational fluid dynamics method under quasi-steady hypothesis. The mechanism of inflation and evolvement of fluid field were analyzed.
