Abstract
The theoretical equation of calculating air-fuel ratio according to the volume fraction of CO2, CO, O2, NOx, HC of combustion products is deduced. The elements H, C, and O in the fuel, the elements N, O, and Ar in the air and water vapor in the air are considered when the equation is deduced. The equation can be used to calculate air-fuel ratio of normal fuels. The equation is used to analyze errors in calculating the air-fuel ratio. The analysis results show that the ratios of fuel H/C, O/C and water vapor in the air have great influence on the measuring results of the air-fuel ratio.
