Abstract

Theoretical expressions of the variance of angle-of-arrival (AOA) fluctuations are derived for plane and spherical optical waves propagating through weak non-Kolmogorov turbulence, and the generalized modified atmospheric spectral model which considers physically the influence of turbulence inner and outer scales is adopted. The new theoretical expressions relate the variance of AOA fluctuations to the receiver aperture, general spectral power law, finite turbulence inner and outer scales, and the optical wavelength. Numerical calculations show that these parameters produce ignorable effects on the AOA fluctuations for weak non-Kolmogorov turbulence.
