Abstract

A new type of ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system is introduced. There are low-pressure and high-pressure absorbers in the system. Part of the condensed liquid ammonia is used as cooling medium in low-pressure absorber so that a low cooling temperature can be reached with a heat source below 100 °C. The effects of working conditions (heat source temperature, evaporation temperature, condensation temperature and flowrate ratio) on the system performance are studied.
