Abstract
The genera formulae of the rotation induced voltage of brushless DC motors were derived. The effects of the flat top width of air gap magnetic density, distributed winding, the short pitched winding, the fractional slot and skewing slot on the rotatory induced voltage were studied. The essential factors in design of rotor magnet and short winding were given to ensure the rotation induced voltage trapezoid with the ideal flat top width. The research results provide theoretical basis to the design of rotation induced voltage with high performance and low torque ripple.
