Abstract

This chapter gives an overview of the research status of traumatic orthopedics robot. Also, the application of robot-assisted navigation system in traumatic orthopedics at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital is introduced. There are a lot of researches for traumatic orthopedics robot; however, due to the complexity of the procedures of traumatic orthopedics and the significant individual differences in patients’ conditions, the application of these robots in trauma is relatively rare. In traumatic orthopedic surgery, surgical robots generally play two major roles: robotic-assisted screw navigation and robotic-assisted reduction. Some of the navigation robots have been applied in clinical. However, the reduction robots, which are still in the laboratory prototype stage, have not been used clinically.
