Abstract

Present studies on cascading failures of complex networks mostly assumed that the relationship between capacity and load of network node is linear, while due to the dynamics of flows on networks, real networks tend to have a more complicated capacity-load relation. Here we present a more realistic capacity-load model, and illustrate how cascading failures impact the network efficiency using it by simulating on BA scale-free network and ER random network. Then by comparing the experiment results with previous studies, we verified the validity and feasibility of our new model.
