Abstract

For vertically laminated carbon fiber reinforced polymer (VL CFRP), the traditional homogenization method is to equip them with multilayer anisotropic uniform media. In this paper, a new equivalent model is proposed, the complex dielectric constant of the radius direction of carbon fiber and the direction of the axis of carbon fiber is calculated by using the average field theory to characterize the complex structure inside CFRP, and a uniform medium of single-layer uniaxial anisotropy is obtained. The shielding efficiency (SE) of the VL CFRP model, the proposed equivalent model and the traditional equivalent model is solved by FEKO respectively, it was found that in the frequency range of 15 to 40 GHz, the proposed equivalent model was more accurate and simpler in structure than the traditional equivalent model.
