Abstract

Accounting for the pre-corrosion influence on the fatigue life, the statistical analysis of acceleration corrosion factor for accelerated aging test to service or natural exposure environment on fatigue critical components was performed. Assuming the pre-corrosion fatigue life follows the two-parameter Weibull distribution, and the relationship between the characteristic life and the pre-corrosion time can be expressed as an exponential model, the equations for acceleration corrosion factor were established. The acceleration corrosion factor was proved to be a constant regardless of reliability degree and pre-corrosion time. The approximate distribution of the acceleration corrosion factor estimate was gained, so the confidence intervals of the acceleration corrosion factor for LY12CZ aluminum alloys specimen were obtained.
