Abstract

This paper studies the design of a wireless data acquisition system applied in greenhouse by building a wireless sensor network based on ZigBee. The system includes acquisiton terminals, routing nodes, an ethernet gateway and a server. The terminals are solar powered with no external power supply, which can be flexibly deployed. Through multiple sensors connected to it, the system can collect the environmental information, including both the temperature and humidity of the air and the soil, the concentration of the carbon dioxide and the intensity of the illumination etc., and then transmits the collected data to the server for further query and analysis, which provides the reliable data support for the cropping. Currently, the system has been successfully assembled and operates properly in the agricultural field of Beijing, Hebei, Shandong, Inner Mongolia and many other provinces and cities in China.
